Description
Journey begins with an exciting river cruise from Bandar Seri Begawan to Bangar. Beginning the River Cruise takes us on the Brunei River passing through the famous Water Village known as the “Venice of the East” by early European. Boat cutting through River channel lined with dense mangrove rainforest and Nipal Palm same vegetation as those found in Amazon River.
Meet and greet by local guide at Bangar Jetty and transfer overland to Sumbiling Eco Village for Morning Tea. Sumbiling Eco Village is an Eco tourism project where local Community of Temburong is involved especially those from Kampong Sumbiling Lama & Batang Duri. It is situated by a calm beautiful Temburong River bank surrounded by rainforest & local exotic fruit trees. Facilities available are traditional Iban huts, jungle herbs trail, camp site, clean modern clean toilets, shower & changing rooms. Later embark on a local Iban open motorised canoe called “Temuai” for an adventure boat ride to Ulu Temburong National Park.
At the Park, register and join a guided jungle walk on plank walkway & jungle trail with more than 1200steps to the Canopy walkway. Along the way, please take plenty of stop to enjoy the environment. Drink lot of water to hydrate yourself. Before you knew it you already reach the base of the Canopy Walkway. Climb up about 300 step up for a bird eye view of Rainforest canopy.
There after retreat back to Sumbiling eco village for lunch. Relax or take a dip by the Temburong River (subject to river condition) or participate in our activities. Nearing the end of our Eco-adventure, travel overland back to Bangar town, where a boat will be waiting to bring you on an exciting river cruise back to BSB with fond memories of Temburong.
Itinerary
07:45am Meet at Kianggeh jetty, Bandar Seri Begawan
08:15am Depart via Boat to Bangar, Temburong
09:15am Welcome by local guide at Bangar jetty, Temburong
09:30am Depart via Van or Bus to Sumbiling Eco Village- “SEV”
09:50am Arrive at Sumbiling Eco Village for Morning Tea with local cakes “Kiuh”
10:15am Depart via motorised Longboat on Temburong River to Ulu Temburong National Park
10:45am Arrive at Ulu Temburong National Park, register & begin trekking up hill to the Canopy Walkway to have a great view of the Rainforest canopy
12:30noon Back trek down to River & depart Ulu Temburong National Park & Visit Water fall
13:30pm Back to Sumbiling Eco Village for lunch, shower, relax & enjoy the serene environment
14:30pm Depart for Bangar Jetty & onward back to Bandar seri Begawan
16:00pm Arrive at Kianggeh Jetty, Bandar Seri Begawan with fond memories of Temburong,
As an outdoor trip, itinerary and times indicated is subject to change without notice, as trip may be affected by rain, heat, high or low water level in the river.
Be expected to have more adventure during low water level as you may need to get out from longboat to push the boat.
Insurance are highly recommended as this is an Eco - Adventure tour.
Recommended to wear :
Shorts, T - Shirt, old shoes or slippers advised for the longboat trip. You may buy a rubber shoes at Bangar town B$5/pair
For the walk in the forest, long pants, socks, shirt and a pair of walking shoes with a good grip for walking on slippery planks.
What to Bring :
Rucksack, extra set of clothing, ,towel, extra pair of shoes or sandal, sun lotion, hat, raincoat, camera, binoculars, Small towel for the walk, Towel + toiletries , Swimsuit , Insect repellent, Some snacks and drinks in case you get hungry and thirsty enroute.
